Creative collectives

The creative biography of youth symphony orchestra has been started in spring 2004. The collective has been created on the base of Lugansk State Institute of Culture and Arts and Lugansk regional college of Culture and Arts in order to promote the best samples of world- wide known music, to form spirituality of young people. Conductor Sergiy Yovsa permanently collaborates with orchestra, and orchestra artistic producer is Ukrainian National Union of Composers member, the LSICA associate professor Yevheniya Mikhalova.

Collective repertoire includes Vienna classics symphonies, the ones of I. Brams, A. Dvorzhak, P. Tchaikovsky, S. Rakhmaninov, the symphonic compositions of D. Hershvine, D. Shostakovych, L. Kolodub, M. Stetsyun and other composers. Well -known soloists and conductors take part at collective concerts. International contests laureate M. Korotovych, V. Zybkov, the Honored artist of Ukraine – Ukraine State Radio company academic orchestra conductor – V. Zhadko, Vienna University professor E. Vurdingher (Austria), the Honored Arts Worker of Ukraine V. Trubin- Leonov.

This orchestra of Lugansk State Institute of Culture and Arts and Lugansk regional college of Culture and Arts has started at the beginning of 1999. Its’ artistic producer is Nataliya Kozlova – leading professor and exponent.     

Collective repertoire includes different époques, styles and directions composers’ creations, starting from A. Korelli, I. Bakh till Beethoven and F. Shubert, from P. Tchaikovsky and M. Shostakovych till M. Skoryk and V. Borysov. The orchestra became the first exponent of S.Turneyev, G. Hausner, A. Voronov compositions, it has got the applauses of such international festivals listeners like «Kharkov assemblies», «Moscow autumn», «Musik forum Klosterneuburg». The Honored artist of Russia, the professor of Moscow State conservatory after P. Tchaikovsky – Yuriy Tkanov; conductors: the Honored Arts Worker of Ukraine, Sh. Patladzhan, E. Vurdinger, (Austria), the Honored Arts Worker of Ukraine – V. Trubin- Leonov (USA), O. Shadrin (Russia) collaborate constantly with the collective. The «Serenada» concerts had a great success at Rakhmaninov Hall of Moscow State Conservatory, the Hall of State Historical Museum of Moscow, The Hall of Saint Martin Cathedral, at Vienna Musical and Exponential Craft University.

The pearl of Lugansk State Institute of Culture and Arts the chorus «Alma mater» has been created in 2001 on the base of international contests laureate «Blagovest» chorus, which is the chorus of Lugansk regional college of Culture and Arts, upon the initiative of the Honored Culture Worker of Ukraine – Nataliya Knyazeva. Under the guidance of talented choirmaster it has made constant successful tours at creative reports of Lugansk region at «Ukraine» Palace, tours to Germany, France, Poland, Russia. Nowadays the chorus is headed by Tetyana Krotko.     

Chorus has various repertoire palette. Collective artistic management has prepared several programs, which include Renaissance époque compositions, Western Europe composers of XVIII – XIX centuries, variations of world - known popular songs, jazz compositions etc. Collective exponential style differs by flexible nuances, technical craftsmanship, good taste. This allowed for collective to win the 1st prize at «Woman vocal ensemble», nomination on the 5th international contest of chamber chorus collectives «Yalta- Victoriya 2005», as well as to get winners diploma at XIV International festival of chorus collectives «Mogutny Bozha» (Byelorussia) and International chorus collectives’ festival «White Nights- 2007», (Saint Petersburg).

This collective has started its’ musical biography in 2002 as an active promoter of different countries folk music. Such title does not limit its’ repertoire, as the collective program includes classical and varieties compositions and folk songs and dances modern variations. The ensemble has been created by the Honored Culture Worker of Ukraine Svitlana Petryk, and it has been headed till nowadays by an experienced LSICA professor Iryna Zolotaryova. The collective has made successful performances at various concert programs, made tours to Russia.     

The soloists of Lugansk regional Philharmonic society, leading button accordion player, the Honored Artist of Ukraine – the associate professor of Odessa Musical Academy after A. Nezhdanova V. Murzha perform together with collective.

The «Subito» ensemble has been created in February 2005, and consists of young musicians. Ensemble consists of international contests laureates, Igor Zheltukhin (button accordion), Sergiy Pelesh (balalaika second). The collective artistic producer is the Honored Culture Worker of Ukraine – Svitlana Petryk.

The ensemble considers folk instruments play to be its’ goal and creative task. Musicians perform complex classical ( Vivaldi, Piatsolla, Beethoven, Albenis), folk and modern popular («Phantom of Opera» by J. Vebber and «Who wants to live forever» «Queen») creations on folk instruments. Their play differs by its brilliance and emotionality.

During three years of the ensemble existence it became laureate of regional and all Ukrainian contests, took part at tours around the cities of Ukraine, Russia, Poland, France, Slovakia, Germany. In March 2007, the ensemble «Subito» became the prize winner of «Mountainous Starset» contest in Poprad city, Slovakia. The collective has also taken part at international festivals «Peace Forum» in Turkey, Istanbul, year 2007 and «Katusha» in Byelorussia (Minsk, 2007).

The «Subito» ensemble has released its first album «Hit by Hit». Nowadays all «Subito» team members are full of creative plans and ideas and constantly increase their professional level. 

This collective of Lugansk State Institute of Culture and Arts and Lugansk regional college of Culture and Arts under the guidance of Mykola Yovsa has become the peer of third millennium. It has renewed the best traditions of jazz music playing, adopted at Culture Palace after Lenin, which was known in frames of Ukraine in 60–ies of the past century.

The orchestra attracts by its repertoire, based upon jazz classics- J. Ellington, K. Bayzey, X. Teasol, M. Ferguson, as well as on modern composers’ creations. Each collective performance is a holiday as jazz men demonstrate different styles virtuosic mastering, technical craftsmanship, ensemble unity. Exactly this features have provided the laureate titles at numerous all Ukrainian and international festivals for collective. Jazz orchestra made tours to Kiev, Yalta, Donetsk, worked on the same stage with Australian jazz singer Marry Mass.

It is one of the oldest creative collectives of Lugansk, which represents Lugansk State Institute of Culture and Arts and Lugansk regional college of Culture and Arts since 2002. The band artistic producer is talented conductor Sergiy Yovsa. The collective repertoire includes several programs, which consist of traditional applied music such as marches, dances; as well as composers’- classics’ creations, modern authors and folk variations from different countries. The band high professional level allows it performing musical -educational activities, assist at regional events, in Lugansk region creative reports in Kiev.

Band exponential manner differs by ensemble unity, technical craftsmanship, timbre palette brilliance. 

 

This ensemble exists in the institute during many years and is headed by enthusiast of her craft Alyona Shabalina. The collective participants are the students of «Modern choreography» specialization. In 2002 Dance theatre of LSICA became the first Ukrainian modern dance collective which got honored title «popular». The collective choreography is marked by high technical level. Its performances amaze by their uncommonness, original choreographic solutions, which are synthesis of modern choreography various directions.

In November 2004, popular Dance theatre of LSICA gained Grand Prix of IV All Ukrainian open festival contest of classical, ball and modern dance «Dreams star set». The collective is famous by original performances such as: modern ballet «Mermaid» by H. Ch. Andersen, modern ballet «Follow the air» and choreographic performances «Miniature», «Pour over the life».

 

This dance team consists of «modern choreography» specialization students. The team is headed by Antonina Sklodovska – LSICA choreographic art chair professor, the high achiever of Ukrainian education, the highest category judge for modern and variety dance in Ukraine. In May 2005, «2SET» band took second place at «Fantasy» (formation) nomination at modern dance world cup in Hungary (Dier city).

The ensemble history has started six years ago upon the initiative of the producer – choreographic art chair professor, highest category judge, Luhansk region dancing sport federation president – Olena Beryozina. The collective artists are the students of «ball choreography» specialization, bearing the champions of Ukraine, world cup half finalists, region champions’ titles in ball dancing area. The collective repertoire is uncommon and versatile, starting from European and Latin America dance program, that is commonly accepted in the world, till uncommon performances on the basis of ball dances with the selection of modern and unexpected musical material selection.     

During the time of collective activity a range of concert programs had been created, about 50 choreographic performances had been staged and being shown by the collective at regional stages and in Ukraine.

The ensemble has been created in 2006. The members are «Folk choreography» specialization students. Artistic director is – Galina Demyanenko. Ensemble differs from others by scenic characters brightness, various dance themes and costumes fairy. New dance collective represented Lugansk in the grand events, devoted to the Days of Lugansk region in Rostov region (Russian Federation), it also took part in concerts of folk choreography and folk singing «My Land» and «Luybo», and made numerous successful tours in Russia.

In 2008 folk dance ensemble «Rodoslav» successfully represented Ukraine at the twenty-third international meeting of folk performers «Lublin – 2008», where it took part in performances, parade, concerts in cities – Nalezov and Lublin, and in the charitable performance in children’s hospital.

The name of the theatre was offered by students: «We’ll always be revealing and honest with our audience». The production director is the dramatic art head chair, associate professor, the Honored Culture Worker of Ukraine – Volodimir Sagan. The students of all courses of specializations: «Actor’s art of dramatic theatre and cinema», and «Direction of variety art and mass holidays» take part at educational theatre activities. The theatre repertoire has the following performances: «Romance for two» (Van Zhen), «I have been waiting for so long» (V. Tokareva), «Kvilt» (S. Shuchenko), «Happiness» (L. Razumovska) and «The river on the asphalt» (D.Lipskerov), which show the problems of modern youth, who are looking for happiness and mutual love.

The students also have a chance to show the audience their own creative works such as: «Luckless» (the staging made by the student of actor’s specialization O. Plukha after the play of Karpenko-Kary, the course head is V. Sagan); the performance «Devils» after the play of U. Grushas «Love, jazz music and devil»; the play adapted for the stage «His majesty – Theatre», which shows the best samples of Ukrainian and Russian classical drama. Constant creative pursuit of students gives them a possibility to find modern emotional solution of classical character. Due to this theatre future actors’ and stage directors’ professional level is increasing constantly

Every spring «Revelation» presents their performances in Donetsk regional Ukrainian musical-drama theatre. In year 2008, the «Revelation» has brought grand prize of all Ukrainian festival of youth amateur theatres, called «South Masks».

In English the word «deep» means depth. This project came into being in LSICA three years ago on so called community initiative. Students of Dramatic Art Department from different courses were captivated by the idea of the young instructor Oleksandr Barkar who planned to organize the studio as a fringe theatre. Participants of this project are not afraid to seek for and use some new expressiveness means in the performances, intended for young intellectual and not indifferent audience; they raise the problems of love and treachery, dependence and freedom.

As a propagandist of a healthy life-style, drama school is constantly invited by comprehensive educational institutions of the region for organizing theme events, and it also supports Al-Ukrainian charitable movement in the struggle against HIV/AIDS (All-Ukrainian drama festival «Zhivi» («Live»), Kharkiv, 2007).

The school is a permanent participant of drama contest festivals. II All-Ukrainian open children and youth drama festival of amateur groups «LihtArt» (Grand prix, Rivne, 2008), Moscow fantasy festival «Sribna strila» («Silver Arrow») (laureates in nominations «The Best Actor’s Work of the Festival» and «The Best Female Supporting Role», Moscow, 2008) are among them.

International rate body-building trainer Gennady Volik is an initiator and instructor of this «fabric of a beautiful body modeling» since its’  foundation (1986). The club became the first one to train the world rate sportsmen and organized local and national championships. For 20 years of activity it has trained a lot of champions and prize winners, who rose the Luhansk’s athletic sports on a high level. In 2002 the club has got a new breath under the guidance of the institute and has being actively developing nowadays. Due to the existence of this club on the basis of the institute, and Gennady Volik’s work as a professor of physical training at social and humanities department, the students of LSICA have the possibility to improve their health, go in for sport and get the most complete ideas about athleticism.

The new kind of sport for Ukraine – cheerleading (the groups of sport teams’ support) – becomes more popular. The cheerleading team appears both on the basis of the sport teams, and on the basis of institutes.

The LSICA cheerleading team (the trainer Elena Pleshakova) started her way from aerobics and co-operation with FC «Zarya» and nowadays is its’ talisman during matches and has the same name. Any match of FC «Zarya» is not played without an energetic support of cheerleading team. The group consists of about 20 students of different specialities – from managers of show-business to fashion designers. All volunteers and even institute entrants of department of pre-institute training are admitted to the group.

Due to the choreographic methods of expressiveness the girls show wonderful compositions and make a real show at the ground. The team’s arsenal comprises elements of aerobics, acrobatics, gymnastics, dance, jumps, and pirouettes.

Since very beginning of «Zarya» competitions (The National Championship of cheerleading in Kharkiv) the team has been able to be competitive with experienced teams. The first place in the fifth open festival of fitness, health-improving aerobics and cheerleading «Spring. Beauty. Grace» (Dnipropetrovs’k), the eighth place in the nomination «Cheer-dance» in Europe Cup of cheerleading in Poland are among the wins of the young team.

Ensemble “Bravo” consist of five students of orchestral instruments department of LSICA: Nikolay Hozhylin (balalaika-prima), Tymur Tagaev (accordion), Sergey Ligus (balalaika-second), Ivan Kozlov (domra-prima) and Victor Karpun (balalaika-bass). The team supervisor is Svetlana Petrik, Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine. 

Ensemble has won the Grand Prix of the III International Bayan-Accordion Competition “Perpetum mobile” (Drogobych, 2010), the prestigious International Lanciano Accordion Competition (Italy, 2010). 

“Bravo” performs academic music, jazz improvisation, country, flamenco, as well as potpourri of contemporary tunes. Despite its young age, the team has a high level of ensemble playing.
